Ecole des Artistes — 2021/2023
Ecole des Artistes was conceived as a creative collective — a school without teachers — initiated by Izabela Clarke, Hugo Sire, and Léopold Brekke, and active from 2021 to 2023. The collective served as a space where each of us could bring in our personal creative world. During our time together, École des Artistes developed a first collaborative project entitled “Collection des Erreurs”, presented in June 2022 at the Three Stars Book gallery in Paris. For our second and final project, “The Sweater Project”, École des Artistes created a small capsule collection of upcycled cashmere sweaters sourced from Vinted. Each creative upcycled five sweaters, which were presented during a week-long exhibition in March 2023 at Gallery Studio.34 in Paris.

Inspired by travellers and strollers, we embarked on this journey to create our first collaborative fashion collection. We used deadstock fabrics from major fashion houses and experimented with different hand knitted mesh techniques, pleated, hot stamping on woolen skin... For several weeks we lived together on Rue des Artistes, in the 14th arrondissement, where we ate, cut, draped, dreamed, learned and designed together.
